The Health And Beauty Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar – no home should be without it!

Apple Cider Vinegar is not only a delicious and healthy addition to salad dressings, marinades and fish & chips, it is also without a doubt one of nature’s best beauty products, inside and out. Great for hair, skin, a multitude of ailments and not to mention the benefits inside your body (which of course, is where the best beauty transformation takes place), this is something you just can’t afford to miss.

One of our favourite organic hair care ranges, which has been a long standing resident in our beautiful Cotswold salon use Apple Cider Vinegar as one of the key ingredients in their Herbal Cider Hair Clarifier and Colour Sealer, due to it’s miraculous, restorative properties, encouraging perfect PH levels for a healthy scalp and it’s ability to gently cleanse away any excess build up, without stripping, for a gloriously glossy finish.

But the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar doesn’t end with the aesthetics. If you’re missing a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar in the kitchen, get yours in quick to help beat back coughs, colds and sore throats as winter approaches. Apple Cider Vinegar is an amazing (and potent) antimicrobial, which can kill pathogens, including bacteria. Gargle a diluted Apple Cider Vinegar solution to instantly soothe and disinfect a sore throat, or add a capful to a glass of water and drink it down to fight any internal winter bugs.

If that’s not enough for you, here’s a few other reasons why Apple Cider Vinegar is an essential addition to every home:

Use as a Toner

Apple Cider Vinegar can make a fabulous skin toner, tightening pores, fading acne scars and age spots and best of all, it is 100% natural. Mix one part Apple Cider Vinegar with two parts water (distilled or bottled, for best results) and store in the fridge. Use morning and night, after cleansing, by soaking some cotton wool and gently wiping over your face in an upward motion. It may not smell all that wonderful, but the effects will get you past that soon enough. If you really can’t stand it, try adding a single drop of lavender or rosemary essential oil to the solution.

Balance Your Body

Apple Cider Vinegar not only balances your scalp’s PH levels when used as a rinse, it also has the same effect inside your body. Add a cap or two to a glass of water or sip a small amount a few times a day. Doing this will help your body to maintain a healthy, alkaline PH level, meaning higher energy and less chance of infections.

Be Well

If you’ve been struck down with a cold or flu virus, Apple Cider Vinegar may just be your cure-all! Again, by drinking down a small amount your body will thank you for it. Research into Apple Cider Vinegar suggests that it has the ability to break up mucous and cleanse the lymph nodes so any illness (or allergy) where a blocked nose or chesty cough is a play, could be fought off, or at least greatly reduced, using this simple remedy.

Treat Your Pets

OK, so perhaps it’s not the kind of treat your pets might enjoy, but if you have a furry friend you will know that catching fleas at some point is kind of inevitable. Regular chemical flea treatments can be very harmful, as you might imagine with those strong toxins getting into the blood stream, but an Apple Cider Vinegar wash is safe and can be very effective. If you want to try this natural treatment, mix one part water with one part Apple Cider Vinegar and saturate or spray and rub your pet’s coat all over and then allow to air dry – easy as that!
